The Foundation was named for Marcie Mazzola, who died tragically in an automobile accident on July 6, 2002. Although she was only 21 at the time of her death, Marcie had touched many lives. At the time of her death Marcie was involved in a civil law suit against a school bus driver who sexually abused her when she was 11 years old. The lawsuit was successful and the Foundation was founded. The Marcie Mazzola Foundation works tirelessly to improve the lives of abused and at-risk children. They invest in programs that serve these children directly, and in initiatives that build community awareness about their unique and urgent needs. The Foundation has been successful in helping hundreds of fragile children overcome their abuse, develop self confidence, and become empowered to lead positive lives.
